Floyd "Wayne" Pritchett passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021. Wayne was born on January 3, 1948, in Dover to Frances and Dawes Pritchett.
Wayne first started working with his father painting and repairing furniture. He then went on to start his own business where he owned and operated Empire Painting, which he did for most of his life.
Wayne was a member of Forest Grove Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Wayne was a skilled baseball player back in his day and broke many records. Wayne still enjoyed sports and loved watching the Red Skins. He also enjoyed shooting pool, hunting, fishing, and catching and eating crabs with family and friends.
Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Belinda Ann Pritchett.
He is survived by sons, Shawn (Mary) and Shannon (Amber) both of Hartly, and James "Wade" (Misty) Pritchett of Chesapeake, Va.; daughters, Rebecca (Larry) Haug and Laura (Sean) Tobias, all of Felton, and Selena Pritchett of Cheswold; aunt, Lorraine of Lewes; and grandchildren, Hanna, Stephanie, Dustin, Anthony, Jordan, Mason, Tyler, and Zachary.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Rd., Dover, DE 19901. Friends may call an hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks contributions to be made to the Delaware Nature Society.
