CLAYTON - Floyd Prickett Holtz, Sr. passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 5, 2022 in Pinnacle Rehab & Health Center, Smyrna.
Floyd was born March 8, 1945 in Burlington County, Mount Holly, New Jersey to the Late, Clifford & Margaret (Prickett) Holtz. He graduated in 1963 from Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Mount Holly, New Jersey. He grew up on a farm in New Jersey later farming with his father. In 1973, upon his fathers's retirement, Floyd moved his wife and daughter to Georgia to establish his own growing corn, soybeans, wheat, and peanuts. Following farming, he was the owner/operator of a hardware store in Montezuma, Georgia. Floyd later worked for Pine Timber Company for five years before moving to Delaware in 1993 to work with his brother for Holtz Farms. He was also a Member of the Delaware Farm Bureau.
Floyd is survived by three children, Tammy Miller (Jimmy) of Montezuma, Georgia, Floyd P. Holtz, Jr. of Perry, Georgia, and Lucas C. Holtz (Michelle), of Smyrna, DE; his brother, David C. Holtz (Kitty), of Clayton, DE; grandchildren, Lucas Holtz and Savannah Holtz, of Smyrna, DE, Brianna Kelley (Blake), of Perry, Georgia, Megan Miller, of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Trey Miller, of Perry, Georgia and Lydia Holtz, of Perry, Georgia; two great-grandchildren, Blakelyn Kelley and Wyatt Traywick; a niece, Cherie Bergold (Chris), of Clayton; two nephews, Craig Holtz, of Dover and Brent Holtz (Ruby), of Dover; a great-niece, Jessica Bergold; and a great-nephew, Tucker Holtz.
He also will be missed by many friends and family from Delaware, Georgia, and New Jersey.
The family would like to give a Special Thanks to Pinnacle Rehab & Health Center for their care and dedication during his stay there, and also to Vitas Hospice for the short term compassionate care.
Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2022 in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE; where family and friends may view two hours before. Burial will follow Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
