Floyd L. Casson

MILFORD - Floyd Leven Casson, Jr., "Junior/Junee," passed away at home on Aug. 14, 2016. He was born on Oct. 14, 1932, in Hartly to Floyd M. Casson, Sr., and Dorothy V. (nee Amole) Casson. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, and was stationed in Germany during a portion of his enlistment. Floyd retired from the Delaware Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Mosquito Control Section, after many years of service. He was an avid outdoors sportsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his friends. He was especially fond of pets, animals and wildlife. "Junior" was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Moose Lodge, NRA, and the Bridgeville Rifle and Pistol Club. Floyd's sister, Ginger [Ellis], predeceased him in December 2015; he is survived by a cousin. A memorial gathering will be held for friends on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford. Interment will be private at the Lakeview Cemetery, Dover.
