TOWNSEND - Florence Mae Cole of Townsend went home to be with the lord on Wednesday, May 2, 2007.
She was born on June 16, 1921, daughter of the late, David L. and Martha "Mattie" Jewell.
Florence was a member of the Middletown Baptist Church, where she served as a greeter and was also a past treasurer for the church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard E. Cole in 1995; and two brothers, George and Walter Jewell.
Florence is survived by three step-daughters, Darlene Burris and her husband, Walter, with whom she lived with in Townsend, Helen Thompson and her husband, Charles and Jean Guessford and her husband, Floyd all of Smyrna; several grand and great-grandchildren, including her special granddaughter who helped care for her, Kristen Guessford of Townsend.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at the Middletown Baptist Church, 419 Armstrong Corner Road, Middletown at 11 a.m., where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Forest Cemetery in Middletown.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Middletown Baptist Church, 419 Armstrong Corner Road, Middletown, DE 19709.
