Florence M. Whisler, 70

DENTON, Md. - Florence M. Whisler of Denton died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, at her home. She was 70.

Born in Denton, Mrs. Whisler was the daughter of the late Clayton and Mary Anna (Carey) Murphy.

She was an inspector at Solo Cup in Federalsburg, retiring in 2005 after 30 years of service.

Her first husband, Floyd Thomas Riggin, died Jan. 13, 1966. Her second husband, Arthur King Whisler, died Sept. 5, 1992.

Mrs. Whisler is survived by six daughters, Mary Ann Riggin of Denton, Nancy Dixon and her husband Sam of Townsend, Del., Emma Jean Riggin of Denton, Florence Darling and her husband Eddie of Harrington, Del., Pearl Eaton and her husband Howard of Ridgely, and Donna Davis of Cordova; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Clayton Murphy.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Moore Funeral Home, 12 S. Second St., Denton, where friends may call one hour before the service.

Interment will be in Denton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Caroline Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 362, Denton, MD 21629.
