Flora E. Starke, 85

DOVER - Flora E. Starke, of Dover, died on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, in Courtland Manor Nursing Home in Dover. She was 85. Born on Dec. 26, 1923 in Fairhaven, Mass., to the late Allerton T. and Effie Tripp Delano. She was a bookkeeper, a Navy Veteran of World War II and mother of five. Mrs. Starke was preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Starke and son Brant Starke. She is survived by her sons, Richard C. Starke Jr. and his wife Patti of Minnesota, Todd Starke and his wife Carol of Camden, Jamie Starke and his special friend Carol Thompson of Dover; her brother, Allerton T. Delano Jr. of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister, Lillian Burntwistle of Rhode Island; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends may call on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St., Dover. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
