First State Manufactured Housing Association announces scholarship recipients

The First State Manufactured Housing Association announces the four recipients of the Manufactured Housing Scholarship Award for 2024 - 2025.

Each scholarship is in the amount of $2,500.
Recipients are:

  • Samantha Buckley, of Millsboro, a 2024 graduate of Sussex Central High School where she maintained a 4.0 GPA all four years.  Samantha plans to study Music Education at Moravian University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in the fall.  She was part of the high school marching band, concert band and choir.  Her instrument is the Alto Saxophone which she has been playing for over seven years.  Samantha hopes to one day be a band or choir director in one of the local middle schools or high schools where she lives. 
  • Ellis Jack, of Lewes, will be attending the University of Delaware majoring in nursing beginning in the fall. He is a 2024 graduate of Cape Henlopen High School and while in high school participated on the unified flag football team and swim team. Ellis also participated in an internship at Bayhealth working in the outpatient oncology department. 
  • Emma Moyer, from PotNets Lakeside in Long Neck, a 2024 graduate from Sussex Central High School will be attending Delaware Technical Community College, Owens Campus in the fall majoring in Early Childhood Education.  After completing 2 years and receiving her associate degree, Emma’s plans are to become a para-professional in a Special Education classroom.
  • McKenna Vest, from Clayton, is a 2024 graduate from Delaware Military Academy. She will be attending Texas A&M University majoring in Agricultural Economics in the fall. McKenna is the valedictorian of her class and was a member of the Seahawks Varsity Volleyball team, the National Honor Society, and a Regimental Officer of the NJROTC. McKenna is an active member of the Just Country kids 4-H club and shows dairy cattle, goats and lambs at the Delaware State Fair.
