Faye Bell, 80
DOVER - Faye Bell of Dover died Sunday, May 6, 2007, in Silver Lake Center after a long illness. She was 80.
Mrs. Bell was born May 16, 1926, in Milford, daughter of the late Eldred V. and Lena S. Ingram.
She was a 1944 graduate of Dover High School and earned a bachelor's degree in commercial science from Rider University, Lawrenceville, N.J.
Mrs. Bell was employed as secretary to the president of the First National Bank of Dover and later by the Delaware State Board of Education, first with the Delaware Educational Television Network and then the office of teacher certification, from which she retired in 1988 after 22 years.
Her love for music was shared with all ages, kindergartners, junior choir children, high school choir students, and adult choir members, in addition to the many whom she taught piano lessons. She was a gifted accompanist who accompanied for the Dover High School Glee Club, her college choir and for the chapel services at the Dover Air Force Base during World War II. Music was her lifelong passion.
Mrs. Bell was a member of the Delaware Retired School Personnel Association, the 1944 Dover High School class reunion committee, and the SPCA. She was a lifelong member of the Peoples Church, in which she held many positions, including director of music, president of the women's fellowship, member of the deaconate and chairperson of the pastor-parish relations committee.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, J. Francis "Buck" Bell of Dover; her daughter, Nadine M. Tull and her husband Richard of Bear; her grandson, R.W. Tull of Wilmington; and her brother E. Vernon Ingram and his wife Dolly of Dover.
A memorial service will be noon Thursday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Del. 10), Dover.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Kent County SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
