Fay Marie Fidance, 74

NEWARK - Fay Marie Fidance of Newark died peacefully surrounded by her family and friends on Wednesday, March 28, 2007. She was 74.

Fay was born on Jan. 27, 1933, in Christiana, a daughter of the late John M. Buffington and Emily Talley Buffington.

A bookkeeper by profession, she was employed with Nixon Uniform Rental in north Wilmington for 20 years until her retirement.

Fay was active in the Marydale community and enjoyed playing slots, watching NASCAR, and spending time with family and friends. She also loved to travel, especially with her friends, Nancy and Blanche.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Fidance Sr.; her son, John Jr.; and her sisters, Betty Niblett and Dorothy Wilde.

She is survived by her daughters, Lynda Kopishke and husband, Charles, of Newark, Lois Kelly and husband, Tom, of Wilmington, N.C., and Joyce Poffenberger and husband, Dwight, of Smyrna; her brother, E.T. Buffington and wife, Peggy, of Smyrna; 10 loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark.

A service to celebrate Fay"s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in St. Georges Cemetery.

Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to Marydale Retirement Village, 135 Jeandell Drive, Newark, DE 19713.
