SMYRNA - F. Christiana Murray (Wyatt) of Smyrna went home to be with the Lord Sunday, April 15, 2007, in Smyrna. She was 72.
Mrs. Murray was born on Dec. 22, 1934. She was the oldest child of the late Robert S. and Florence C. Murray.
She was a graduate of Middletown High School and attended Delaware Technical & Community College.
Mrs. Murray worked for the DuPont Co. before raising her family and was also a foster grandparent for the state of Delaware. She was also employed by Ichthyologic Associates and Letica in Middletown, and retired from Schmittinger & Rodriquez law firm in Dover.
All who knew her will remember Christiana as a hard-working and loyal friend.
Mrs. Murray was a member of the Townsend Free Will Baptist.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, John C. Wyatt Sr.; her brother, William J. Murray; and a granddaughter.
She is survived by five sons and three daughters-in-law, Steven M. and Carrie Wyatt, John C. Wyatt, Jr. and wife Kay, all of Smyrna, Patrick M. Wyatt and wife Nancy of Clayton, David E. Wyatt of Townsend, and William W. Wyatt of Arizona; a daughter, Jacqueline C. Grau and her husband Duane of Smyrna; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; four sisters, Carolyn M. Shaffner, Patricia A. Barcus, and Sabina Moffitt all of Townsend, and Elizabeth Henderson of Camden; two brothers, R. Charles Murray of Milton and Bruce B. Murray and his wife Jane of Middletown;sister-in-law, Shirley Murray; and a brother-in-law, Wilson Barcus.
Friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, LLC., 212 N. Broad St., Middletown.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Townsend Free Will Baptist Church, 4519 S. DuPont Pkwy., Townsend.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Townsend Free Will Baptist Church, 4519 S. DuPont Pkwy., Townsend, DE. 19734.
