Bruner, 64
Everett "Chuck" Bruner passed away peacefully on May 7, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on December 30,1956 in Dover, Del. to Bernard "Reds" Bruner and Rosie Elizabeth (Kitka) Bruner.
Chuckie, as he was known to his family, was raised in Dover, but for the last 23 plus years, his home was in Wilmington where he was known to all as Everett. He poured his heart and soul into his successful painting business and was committed to his work with local NA recovery groups. As a recovering addict, he was proud of his 23 plus years of sobriety and used his personal experiences and struggles to help others. He dedicated countless hours of his life to NA service work. His kindness, laughter, and passion touched so many people and saved more lives than we will ever know,
Chuckie loved the beach, boardwalk fries, barbeques, and all animals, especially his own fur babies. He was a loving brother, a doting uncle, a beloved Godfather, and a steadfast and loyal friend.
He is survived by his sisters, Charlotte Gallagher and Cathy Candileri (husband John); nieces, Tiffany McEvoy (husband Bill) and Cindi Wood (husband Donald); nephews, Patrick Gallagher (wife Presha), Ian Gallagher, and Jeremy Candileri (wife Jill); along with three grandnieces, four grandnephews; and his Goddaughter, Kayla Merritt.
Our family lost Chuckie, but that loss is shared with the NA community he served faithfully and passionately. For everyone whose life he touched, we thank you for also touching his.
A celebration of his life will be held on May 23, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the home he loved so much at 1318 Biggs Road, Wilmington, DE 19805.
