Evelyn Annamae Morris Hodges

SMYRNA - Evelyn Annamae Morris Hodges, of Smyrna, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Pinnacle Nursing Home on Aug. 1, 2010. She was 77. She was born Oct. 7, 1932, in Hartly, to the late Raymond Morris and Nancy Clough Morris. Mrs. Hodges was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Hodges; sisters, Peggy Hobbs, and Catherine Kay Morris Coleman; brother, Raymond Henry Morris; and her lifelong friend, James Shahan. She is survived by her children, Joyce Grabb and her husband Louis of Maine, Mary Ellen Hodges of Dover, John Hodges and his wife Annette Hodges of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Wayne M. Shahan of Nitro, W.Va.; siblings, Nancy Reynolds of Milford, Linda Levan and her husband Edward of Dover, Joan Borel and her husband Jay of Arkansas; sister-in-law, Sandy Morris of Hartly; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be noon, Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Torbert Funeral Home to help defray funeral costs. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
