Eve Grace Brett Laws Bielo

DOVER - Eve Grace Brett Laws Bielo passed away Monday, Sept. 5th, 2016 in her home with her husband Robert James Bielo by her side. Eve was born June 30, 1931 in London England, to Rosina Thornton Brett and John Brett. She was raised in Kent by her mother and adoptive father Leonard Laws. She was evacuated to Wales, during the Nazi blitz. She received a full teaching scholarship at the early age of 14. Eve received her Nurses Education at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust, Hemel Hempstead, UK. Upon arrival in the US she was Emergency Department Charge Nurse at Kent General Hospital in Dover, DE. While living in New England she became Emergency Department Charge Nurse at Eastern Maine Medical Center Bangor, Maine. Returning to Delaware, she became ICU ED CCU Supervisor, Assistant Director of Nursing, Enterostomal Therapist, Wound Care Specialist and retired as Patient Education Department Head. Eve was predeceased by her brother Trevor Laws. She is survived by her husband Robert; children, Stephen and Linda; stepchildren, Ann Bielo Stevens and Mike Bielo; and dear friend, Linda Hixson, whom she introduced as her daughter, Linda Laws, Wendy Wheaton, Leonard Laws and Valerie Mordecai along with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews all of the UK. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations in her name to Kent County SPCA. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.melsonfuneralservices.com.
