BETHLEHEM, Md. - Evangeline W. Kovacs, of Bethlehem, formerly of Greensboro, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Charlotte and Randy Rash. She was born on Aug. 30, 1930, in Harrington to the late Harry B. Wilhelm and Mary Fallis; and her mom, the late Bertha P. Bishop. Mrs. Kovacs was a member of the Delaware Disabled Veterans Association and the Caroline County Moose Lodge, Greensboro. She is survived by her husband, Charles James Kovacs Sr. of Bethlehem; son, Charles J. Kovacs Jr. of El Paso, Texas; two daughters, Carol K. MacFarland of Harrington, and Charlotte J. Rash of Bethlehem; one sister, Dorothy Lozito of Summerville, N.J.; two half-sisters, Geraldine Chambers of Stockton, and Earline Williamson of Laurel, Del; eight grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her mom, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia K. Jones; and three brothers, David R. Pippin, Harry B. Wilhelm and Frank Straub. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro, where a visitation will be held one hour prior. Interment will be in Ridgely Cemetery, Ridgely. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 114 Baptist St., Salisbury, MD 21801 or Alzheimer's Association Eastern Shore Chapter, 209C. Milford St., Salisbury, MD 21804.
