RHODESDALE, Md. - Eva B. Griffin of Rhodesdale died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, in Mallard Bay Nursing Center, Cambridge. She was 88.
Mrs. Griffin was born and raised in Baltimore, daughter of the late James P. and Emma (Miller) Keyser.
She lived in Rhodesdale for six years, coming from Linthicum. She was the oldest and only surviving of nine children.
Mrs. Griffin, along with her mother, was a member of the Morrell Park American Legion Post 137 Auxiliary for 54 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence K. Griffin Sr., in 1989; a daughter, Eva M. Vollstedt; seven brothers, Edward, Charles, James, Woodruff, Wilbur, Richard and Harry; and a sister, Anna (Keyser) Gearhart.
She is survived by a son, Lawrence K. Griffin Jr. and his wife Mary of Rhodesdale; three grandchildren, Robin Barrera, Tracey Mendicino and her husband Frank, and Kevin Griffin and his wife Amy; five great-grandchildren, Dorian Barrera, Nicholas Mendicino, Matthew Mendicino, Lucas Mendicino and Alexander Griffin; and a host of nieces, nephews and old friends in Maryland, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Florida.
Services will be 10:45 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Crownsville Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Morrell Park American Legion Post 137 Auxiliary, 1508 DeSoto Road, Baltimore, MD 21230.
