Eugene D. Nichols

Waerloo, N.Y. - Eugene D. Nichols, formerly of Romulus, N.Y. died peacefully on June 12, 2018. Eugene was born in Ridley Park, Pa. to Conrad A. Nichols and Grace Davenport Nichols on June 8, 1931.
He was raised in Dover and graduated from Dover High School. Eugene joined the Army and served with the 8th Army Division and retired as a warrant officer. He was a Korean War Veteran and member of the Waterloo VFW post 6433.
Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly (Wheeler) Nichols; son, Daniel Nichols; and daughter, Margaret (Nichols) Minardi.
He is survived by his son, Eugene Nichols, Jr. (Pat); daughter, Mary Katherine Harmke (John); brother, Francis Nichols (Shirley); sister, Carolyn Osgood (Geoff); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, N.Y. with military honors.
