DOVER - Ethel Florence Snavely, of Dover, died Thursday, March 27, 2008, in Westminster Village Healthcare, Dover. She was 96.

She was born June 18, 1911, in Johnstown, Pa., to the late George Crawford and Mabel (Baumgardner) Crawford.

Mrs. Snavely retired in 1977 after working as a bookkeeper, stenographer and many other office duties.

She was a member Whatcoat Methodist Church in Camden.

Mrs. Snavely enjoyed rose gardening and spending time with her nieces, nephews, grandchildren and her grandnieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Snavely; her brother, Glen Crawford; and her sister, Dorothy Reed.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean Gilmore and her husband Robert of Smyrna; her grandson, Bob Gilmore and his wife Susan of Dover; and her great-grandchildren, Christopher and Thomas Gilmore.

Funeral services will be held in Johnstown at a later date.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Westminster Village Healthcare, Attn: Activities Department, 1175 McKee Road, Dover, DE 19904.
