SEAFORD - Esther Walton Foskey, of Seaford, went home to be with the Lord after fighting the good fight, on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, in the Seaford Center. She was 64. Esther was born on Aug. 17, 1947, in Wilmington. She was a school bus driver for 43 years in the Seaford school system, she last drove for the Horn Bus Service. Driving the bus was more than a job it was something that she thoroughly enjoyed. Esther also delivered papers for the News Journal, Delaware State News, and the Salisbury Times. She worked until her health declined. Esther loved to sing gospel music and had a singing ministry "Singing for Jesus." She attended St. Paul UMC in Laurel. Besides her work and music, she had a soft heart for cats and dogs and would give strays a home if she could. She was preceded in death by her father Layton Walton; and her two husbands, John B. Marvel and James Darrell Foskey. She is survived by her mother, Edith Mae Leggs Walton of Seaford; two step-children, Lisa Parker and James D. Foskey Jr., both of Seaford; three step-grandchildren, Josh, Jordan, and Jody; an uncle, Elmer C. Leggs Jr. of Greenwood; an aunt, Charlotte Walton of Seaford; and three cousins, Kerrie Gebhart of Lewes, Kimberly Lambertson and Ethan Hitch, both of Pocomoke City, Md.; and many friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at the Christ Evangelistic Church, 9802 Camp Rd., Laurel. The viewing will be held Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the church. Interment will be held at Blades Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to, Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation, 28467 DuPont Blvd, Ste 6, Millsboro, DE 19966.
