Esther F. Franklin, 67

WAKE FOREST, N.C. - Esther F. Franklin of Wake Forest, formerly of Hartly, Del., died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, in Wake Forest. She was 67.

She was born Nov. 8, 1939, in Pittston, Pa., daughter of the late Vincent and Helena (Alpaugh) Callahan.

Mrs. Franklin worked as a sales clerk in retail.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and was devoted to her family.

While living in Delaware, Mrs. Franklin was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Marydel, Md.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rodger D. Franklin, on Oct. 28, 2002.

She is survived by two sons, Paul Franklin of Durham and Jeffery Franklin and his wife, Pamela of Wake Forest; a daughter, Jo-Ann Franklin-Schwartzmeyer and her husband, Michael of Dover, Del.; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Marydel.

Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
