Essie Beulah Clute

Essie Beulah Clute, 85

DOVER - Essie Beulah Clute, of Dover, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 85.

Beulah was born Aug. 31, 1922, in Sewanee, Tenn., daughter of the late John and Annie (Rollins) Smith.

She had worked as a waitress in the Dover area for 30 years and later enjoyed life as a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Clute Jr., on March 31, 1997.

She is survived by a son, J.W. Springfield of Trenton, Ga.; three daughters, Helen Springfield of Chattanooga, Tenn., Glenda Soulder of Delton, Ga., and Linda Kilgore of Whitwell, Tenn.; and a granddaughter, Patricia Allison of Whitwell, Tenn.

Friends may call 5-7 p.m. today in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Kent County SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
