SMYRNA - Larry Gardner passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 25, 2015. Larry was born in Lewistown, Pa. on Feb. 13, 1941 to Isabella M. (Eby) Gardner and the late Eslie W. Gardner, both formerly of Hartly, Del. Larry worked in the Deli Department mainly at the Newark & Kirkwood Hwy Pathmark locations for 43 years before retiring in early 2000. Retirement for Larry meant that he could enjoy life to the fullest. Larry's passion was his love of an open road. He loved to visit family, ride his motorcycle, attend car shows & bike weeks, watch drag races of any sort, and listen to Oldies, Country & Bluegrass. He loved his family, friends, Chevrolets, his Red Malibu, and his little dog Pooch! He is preceded in death by his father Eslie Gardner, and his brother Roger Gardner. He is survived by his loving companion Lisa Welch, Beverly "Joan" Gardner; children, Larry Gardner and Ginger Gardner; and five grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kayleigh, Jaydn, Trevor & Austin, all of (Del.). He is also survived by his mother Isabella Gardner (Del.); a sister, June Arment (Ky.); a brother, Zenas Gardner (Del.); three sister-in-law's, Grace Gardner (Pa.), Georgette Metzger (Nev.), and Patricia Cook (Fla.); 16 nieces & nephews, and a host of other special relatives and friends. Services for family and friends to call upon him for a final farewell will be held at Pippin Funeral Home 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, Del. 19934 on Monday, Nov. 2. Viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Sharon Hills Mem. Pk., Dover.
