Eric Winston Martin, 51

DOVER - Eric Winston Martin formerly of Dover departed this life on Saturday, March 10, 2007, in Chambersburg, Pa. He was 51.

He graduated from Dover High in 1973. Upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Marines.

He loved spending time with family and friends and he was a very outspoken and humorous person.

He loved to play baseball and played the drums with his friends; he was a true lover of music. He loved to travel on his motorcycle. Eric was a loveable and pleasant person who loved to make people laugh.

He was preceded in death by his father, Aston P. Martin; and the mother of his first two children, Cathy Martin.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Sharon Bibbs-Martin of Chambersburg; children, Eric Jr., Erica Martin Alston and Nathaniel Martin all of Chambersburg; his mother, Mahala O. Martin of Dover; brother, Aston Martin of Sparks Nev.; four sisters; Elvera Martin-Baker of Arizona, Edith I. Martin of Dover, Lucretia M. Martin of Felton and Christina Caldwell-Simmons of Woodside; a very special and close friend, Warner Roach of Ohio; two aunts; McCledia Scott Harden of Wilmington and Pauline Holmes of Brown Mills, N.J.; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Hendricks Funeral Home in Chambersburg.

A memorial service will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
