Ennis C. Shaffer

GREENSBORO, Md. - Ennis C. Shaffer of Greensboro, Md., died Friday, November 20, 2015, at the Bayhealth Medical Center in Dover, Del. She was 90 years old. Born in North Wilkesboro, N.C. on March 8, 1925, Mrs. Shaffer was the daughter of the late Thomas Curtis Childress and Laura Ennis Benge Childress. She and her husband, George Franklin Shaffer, were married June 16, 1945. Mr. Shaffer died on November 9, 2001. Mrs. Shaffer had lived in Caroline County all of her life and had been in Nursing for 52 years. She retired in 1993 after 15 years with the Caroline Nursing Home. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Denton. Mrs. Shaffer is survived by two sons, Harold F. Shaffer and his wife Linda of Harrington, Del. and John C. Shaffer and his wife Kathy of Greensboro; one daughter, Marilynn "Marley" E. Hubbard and her husband Chan of Ridgeley, W.Va.; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Dwight Shaffer; two brothers, John C. Childress and Thomas "Jerry" Childress; and a sister, Hazel Warren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Denton. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second Street in Denton.
