MILFORD - Emma E. Givens, age 97, of Milford, passed away on Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at the Milford Center. Emma was born on Jan. 5, 1914, in Ellendale. She was the daughter of the late John and Ida (Messick) Ennis. Emma was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women Rebecca Circle. She was also a member of the Milford Senior Center and the local AARP chapter. Prior to her starting a family, she worked at the L.D. Caulk Company. A loving wife and mother, Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Givens in 2000. She is survived by her son, Gary Givens of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; and her daughter, Glenda Billings and her husband Alan of Milford; and two brothers, Elmer Ennis of Ellendale and Howard Ennis of Salisbury, Md. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, where friends may call after noon. Interment will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford, Del.
