Emma Catherine Sharp

Sharp, 86 MAGNOLIA - Emma Catherine Sharp passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2016 at home. She was 86. Mrs. Sharp was born Jan. 15, 1930 in Frederica to the late Rawley Slaughter and Mary Elizabeth Harrington Slaughter. She had worked for Whelan's Business Machines on Loockerman Street from 1948 – 1957 and then Burchenal Oil Company for 20 years. Mrs. Sharp was a member of the Magnolia United Methodist Church, the Modern Maturity Center, Dover and Harrington Senior Center & a life member of the Frederica Senior Center. She enjoyed the card game of 500, and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Johnston. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James Sharp of Magnolia; son, James A. Sharp of Dover; daughter, Lisa Gray of Pittsville, Md.; grandchildren, Joseph Gray, Christopher Ward, Amber Lynn Sharp, and Jonathan Gray; great-grandson, Braxton Gray. Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 at the Magnolia United Methodist Church, 39 N. Main Street, Magnolia. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Magnolia United Methodist Church, PO Box 256, Magnolia, DE 19962. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com
