Emily Wilhelmina Abbott-Cook, 85
INDIANA - Emily Wilhelmina Abbott-Cook of Indiana passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. She was 85.
Born in Cambridge, Md., she was the daughter of the late Clarence J. and Lola (Huffman) Abbott.
She received her master"s degree at Shippenburg University.
Mrs. Cook was a retired schoolteacher in Dorchester County, Md.
She was a member of the Kokomo Woodland Church of God.
An ordained minister in the Church of God, Mrs. Cook loved the ministry, doing missionary work, studying the Bible and counseling.
She also was an avid quilter and knitter, and loved her children and grandchildren dearly.
Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband, Paul S. Cook, in 2007; two brothers; and one sister.
She is survived by her daughters, Roberta Mayes and Carolyn Loftis, both of Kokomo, and Lola Shukla of Carmel; her brothers, Clarence Abbott Jr. of Crisfield, Md., Lloyd Abbott of Bedford, Pa., William Abbott of Atlantic, Va., Samuel Abbott of Cleveland, Tenn., Dr. Fred Abbott of Salisbury, Md., and David Abbott of Phoenix, Ariz.; her sisters, Elizabeth Tull of Harrington, and Etta Hastings and Delma Bowden, both of Laurel; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be 5 p.m. today in the Lifeway Church of God, Del. 404, Bridgeville, where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev. Lloyd Abbott will officiate.
Internment will be held at a later date in Cleveland, Tenn.
Memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Zion School in India c/o Church of God Missions, P.O. Box 8016, Cleveland, TN 37320.
