Elsie Jane Freeman, 89

DOVER - Elsie Jane Freeman, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 8, 2009, in her home. She was 89. She was born August 29, 1919 in Crumpton, Md., daughter of the late Fletcher and Nola (Walls) Boyles. Elsie retired from Mellon Bank, where she worked in accounting. She enjoyed traveling, and being with family and friends. Elsie was a member of the Modern Maturity Center and the AARP. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Freeman; brothers, Alonzo, Harvey, Howard and Albert Boyles; sisters, Myrna Hickey, Bertha Schmidt, Laura Clark, Clara Wolfe, Delma Powell, Fannie Pearson, Eva Casey, and Emma Merchant. She is survived by two sisters, Pearl B. Cummerford of Millington, Md., and Kathryn B. Foxx of Dover; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who loved "Aunt Elsie". Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 12 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call one hour before services. Burial will follow in Sudlersville Cemetery, Sudlersville, Md. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901.
