Elsie Harting Lee left this world on June 13, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Gustav Lee. Elsie was born in Lakewood, N.J. to Mabel and Ernest Harting on July 10, 1925. She lived her life in New Jersey and Delaware. Elsie and her husband were blessed with two children, a daughter Nancy Lee Culver (husband Irving), of Delaware, and a son Steven Edward Lee (Karen Bruinsma), of Florida. Elsie has two granddaughters Lauren Culver Steffus, (husband Eugene) and Erika Lee, both of New Jersey. Elsie was the eldest of three sisters. She was preceded in death by her sister, Gladys McKay of Pennsylvania. She is survived by her youngest sister, Florence Nestor, and her husband, Frank of Arizona. There are many nieces and nephews who were dear to Elsie's heart. There have been individuals in Elsie's life who have made a difference in the path her life took. She was especially thankful to Mrs. Burns, who showed her what it meant to be a lady, to Mrs. Cole, Mrs. Florence Tallman, Aunt Ethel Miller, Grandmother Mabel Seeburger, Uncle George Johnson, Reverend William Brownson and others. "To my family, when you have a meal together, after I'm gone, I want you to talk, and laugh, and cry because I will be there." There will be A Celebration of Life Service for Elsie at Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, DE 19947 on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. Visitation will start at 11 a.m. Interment in the Wall at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro will follow at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Elsie requested donations be made to: Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market St., Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106 or a charity of your choice.
