DOVER - Ella Mae Scott Torian, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at 5:45 a.m. She was 72. Mrs. Torian was born April 23, 1936 in Durham, N.C., and was the daughter of the late Carrie and Clarence Scott of Bahama, N.C. She married William E. Torian on August 29, 1959. She worked at International Playtex in Dover for 12 years. She had great love for God and her family. She was a quiet person who had a sweet spirit. She was truly kind, generous and loving. She will be greatly missed and remembered. She is survived by her husband, William E. Torian; two daughters, Ella Denise Torian, of Spring Hill, Tenn., and Wanda Elaine Carlson, of Milford, Conn.; grandchildren, Daniel S. Carlson, of Charleston, S.C., Matthew D. Stallings, of Linden, N.J., and Regina M. Carlson, of Milford, Conn.; son-in-law, John Carlson; two sisters, Beatrice Moore, of Atlanta, Ga., and Carol Scott, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; three brothers, Otis Scott, Clarence Scott and Floyd Scott, of Durham, N.C.; a brother-in-law, Shelly Burton; four sisters-in-law, Joan Scott (N.C.), Gladys Scott (Pa.), Christine Torian, of Roxboro, N.C., and Ann Winstead (N.J.); and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends. Sympathy and condolences will be received on Friday, Jan. 23, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover, where friends may call. A private funeral will be held later for family members. Instead of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Delaware Hospice Center of Milford, DE; or Bebe Hospital of Lewes, DE.
