Elizabeth S. "Libby" Donovan, 82

MILFORD - Elizabeth S. "Libby" Donovan of Milford died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at Courtland Manor Nursing Home in Dover. She was 82.

Mrs. Donovan was born on Nov. 17, 1924, in Milford, daughter of the late Edwin F. and Amanda J. (Callaway) Short.

She was employed as a supervisor for 30 years with the state of Delaware, retiring in 1976.

Mrs. Donovan enjoyed bowling and fishing.

She was a member of the Milford Senior Center and the First Baptist Church of Frederica.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Donovan was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Donovan in 2000; a brother, Samuel C. Short; and a sister, Sara H. Zartman.

She is survived by a son, John P. "Jack" Donovan Jr. of Frederica; a daughter, Alice J. Smith of Milford; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where friends may call one hour prior.

Burial will be in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
