Elizabeth M. 'Lib' Schorske, 94

WYOMING - Elizabeth M. "Lib" Schorske, of Wyoming, passed away quietly at her home on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008. She was 94.

Born April 15, 1913, in Marydel, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Charlotte (Schmidt) Meyer.

Elizabeth was a graduate of Caesar Rodney High School in Camden.

She worked with her husband operating a chicken farm in Camden, and later at their liquor store in Dover.

Elizabeth enjoyed cooking and gardening, and each year raised a large vegetable garden from which she would generously give away many canned goods.

She never turned down an opportunity to go crabbing.

Elizabeth was a faithful and dedicated, 60-year member of the Camden-Wyoming Fire Co.'s Ladies' Auxiliary, where she presided over the kitchen for many years.

She was also an active member of the Fruitland Grange of Camden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Schorske in 1987; two brothers, Otto Meyer and Julius Meyer; and three sisters, Charlotte Ruehl, Margaret Quinton and Emma Jaderlund.

She is survived by her companion of 10 years, Ed Clark; and numerous nieces and nephews and an extended family of friends.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901; to the Camden-Wyoming Fire Co.'s Ladies Auxiliary, P.O. Box 186, Camden, DE 19934; or top the Fruitland Grange, 311 E. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Camden, DE 19934.

Letters of condolence may be sent to the funeral home via mail or by e-mail to www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
