Elizabeth Lawton, 93

SMYRNA - Elizabeth Lawton, of Smyrna, formerly of Dover, died Tuesday July 14, 2009, at Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna. She was 93. Mrs. Lawton was born May 19, 1916, in Frederica, to the late Christian Maull and Jennie Wheatley Maull. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, shopping and traveling. Mrs. Lawton was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Dover. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Clifford Lawton on Feb. 2, 2006. Mrs. Lawton is survived by her daughter, Janet Lawton of Dover; her sister, Avis Morgan of Milford; niece, Doris Shane; nephew, Newlin Wood Jr.; and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be noon, Monday July 20, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 209 S. State Street, Dover, DE 19901. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
