Schofield, 89 CAMDEN - Elizabeth Craven Schofield, of Camden, Del., passed away on July 11, 2013. Elizabeth was born in Wilmington, Del., and grew up in Henry Clay with her widowed mother and siblings Margaretta, Florence, John and William. Elizabeth lovingly remembered life on the Brandywine as a wonderful community of siblings, relatives, and friends. Elizabeth graduated from A. I. DuPont H. S. and Goldey Beacom, and worked as a secretary at the Hercules Experimental Station. In 1945, she married George Schofield at New Castle Army Airbase where George was an Army Air Corps navigator. They moved to Brooklyn, N.Y., where they raised five children. Later, Elizabeth also worked as a secretary at Polytechnic University (Brooklyn). Elizabeth and George retired to Delaware in 1995. Elizabeth was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, and beloved grandmother to Leah, Elizabeth, Owen Adam, Katherine, Ella Margaret, and Rosemary, and a friend to everyone she met. Elizabeth is survived by her husband George; and children, Barbara and Owen Brady, Edward, Richard, Mary Anne, and David and Pam Ireland Schofield; six grandchildren; two brothers; and many relatives. On Monday, July 15, 2013, a viewing will be held at Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Church, Dover, at noon.
