Elizabeth Ann 'Betty' Brenegan, 65

MIDDLETOWN - Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Brenegan of Middletown passed away peacefully Sunday, March 4, 2007, in Christiana Hospital, Newark. She was 65.

Mrs. Brenegan was born Aug. 1, 1941, in Philadelphia, son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Mann.

She was employed with the Appoquinimink School District for more than 35 years as a teacher at Silver Lake Elementary, retiring in 1999. She was proud to be selected as Appoquinimink School District's 1988 Teacher of the Year.

Mrs. Brenegan was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, an education sorority, as well as NEA, DSEA and PSEA.

She enjoyed reading and knitting. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Brenegan was a member of the Wednesday AM bowling league at Bowlerama in New Castle.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Roger Brenegan; a daughter and a son-in-law, Sharlyn and Greg Rollins, of Richmond, Va.; two granddaughters, Delaney and Camryn; a brother, Thomas Mann of Wildwood, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Port Penn.

Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Helen Graham Center, 4701 Ogletown-Stanton Road, Newark, DE 19713.
