Elizabeth A. 'Sis' Reed, 75

SMYRNA - Elizabeth A. "Sis" Reed, of Smyrna, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2008, in Langhorne Gardens Rehab and Nursing Center, Langhorne, Pa. She was 75.

Mrs. Reed was the daughter of the late Louis Irving and Helen Pearl (Garton) Atwell.

She worked for International Playtex Inc., for 44 years, retiring in 1996.

Mrs. Reed was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 14 in Smyrna, the Smyrna-Clayton Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8801, the New Castle Moose Lodge Chapter 1418, and the Blood Bank of Delaware Inc.

Mrs. Reed enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and as a loving, giving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Ernest Reed, on Sept. 1, 1999; and two brothers, Lewis Irving Atwell and James P. Atwell.

She is survived by a daughter, Christine R. Septak and her husband Daniel of Yardley, Pa.; two sisters, Mildred Wallace of Quarryville, Pa., and Virginia Hazlett of Clayton; and two grandchildren, Michelle A. Septak and Daniel A. Septak, both of Yardley.

Mass of Christian burial will be offered at noon Friday in St. Polycarp Catholic Church, 135 Ransom Lane, Smyrna.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown.

Burial will be in Townsend Cemetery.

Instead of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the St. Polycarp Catholic Church Building Fund, 135 Ransom Lane, Smyrna, DE 19977.
