FELTON - Elijio "Chief" "AL" Garcia died on Aug. 23, 2015 at his home. Born in Donna, Texas, he was the son of the late Alejandro and Inez (Bueno) Garcia. Elijio enlisted in The United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He had earned the rank of First Sergeant E8, was awarded two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star, and later retired from the Army after serving 26 years. Mr. Garcia later worked for Kohn's Men's Wear, which was once located on Loockerman Street in Dover. Elijio was a member of the VFW and the American Legion, and he truly enjoyed fishing in his free time, but in his quieter moments, he cherished the time spent with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Cindia Curtis. Mr. Garcia is survived by his loving son, Alexander Garcia and wife Theresa, of Magnolia; and his long-time companion, Sally Kegley, of Felton; 3 daughters, Maria Moad and husband Michael Moad of Oklahoma City, Okla., Virginia Perlot and her husband Steve Perlot of Kill Devil Hills N.C., and Rosie Conners and her husband Robin Conners of Colorado Springs, Colo. and their mother Berta Quiles Class of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; also survived by his late daughter's husband, Stephen Curtis of Houston, Texas.
