GREENWOOD - Elfriede K. Retzlaff of Greenwood died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 77.
Mrs. Retzlaff was born Oct. 13, 1929, in Amorbach, West Germany, daughter of the late Franz and Emma (Braunbauer) Schmitt.
She and her late husband Ferdinand Retzlaff moved to Greenwood in 1954.
Mrs. Retzlaff was a homemaker.
She enjoyed reading, knitting, sewing, shopping, cooking, storytelling and having animals around the house. She loved to be around her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Retzlaff was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Harrington and St. John's Catholic Church, Milford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ferdinand Retzlaff, in 2000; two sons, James Retzlaff and Otto Retzlaff; and a daughter, Erika Retzlaff.
She is survived by three sons, Wilhelm Retzlaff of Bridgeville, Heinz Retzlaff of Milford and Peter Retzlaff of Smyrna; and a daughter, Eva Maria Adams of Bridgeville; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Fleischauer Funeral Home, 48 W. Market St., Greenwood.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 1 p.m. Monday in St. John's Catholic Church, Seabury Avenue and School Place, Milford.
Burial will be in St. Johnstown Cemetery, Greenwood.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice Inc., 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
