Eleanor Skinner Hollett, 80

CRUMPTON, Md. - Eleanor Skinner Hollett of Crumpton died Monday, March 12, 2007, at her home. She was 80.

Ms. Hollett was born March 16, 1926, the daughter of the late William Albert and Bertha Pauline "Durham" Skinner.

Mrs. Hollett worked as a waitress at the Granary in Georgetown for 10 years as well as the Howard Johnson"s Restaurant.

She also worked as a private nanny for several years.

Mrs. Hollett was a life member of the Crumpton Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxillary and Crumpton United Methodist Church. In her earlier years she was a member of the Kent and Queen Anne"s 4H and the Millington and Galena PTA.

She enjoyed cooking, canning and gardening.

Mrs. Hollett was preceded in death by her husband, James Herbert Hollett, in 1979; two daughters, Sandra Hollett and Arlene Bowden; and a brother, William Skinner Jr.

She is survived by three daughters, Diane Smith of Queen Anne, Darlene Guschke of St. Michaels and Ellen Marie Hollett of Crumpton; one brother, James Skinner of Chestertown; one sister, Margaret Ann Huffer of Millington; five granddaughters, Lisa Elborn of Chestertown, Amy Miller of Kennedyville, Macy Shahann of Hartley, Julie Yiannakis of Kennedyville, and Jamie Hollett of Crumpton; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Thursday at noon at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St., Millington, where friends may call one hour prior to service.

Interment will be held in Crumpton Cemetery.

Instead of flowers, contributions can be sent to the Crumpton United Methodist Church P.O. Box 343 Crumpton, MD 21628; or the Crumpton Volunteer Fire Co. P.O. Box 68 Crumpton, MD 21628.
