Eleanor Schauber Voshell Connolly

CHESTERTOWN, MD - Eleanor Schauber Voshell Connolly passed peacefully on June 12, 2013 at Chester River Manor, Chestertown. Born Aug. 31, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Bradford James Schauber and Frances Meyers Schauber Clayton. Eleanor was a graduate of Chestertown High School, Class of 1944 and a lifelong resident of Chestertown. As a teenager she worked on her father's dairy farm, Schauber's Dairy on Morgnec Road, along with sisters Ann, Betty and Kathryn and brother William (Bill), delivering milk in the Chestertown, Rock Hall, and Centreville areas. She met her husband, Edward Asa Voshell Jr. of Centreville, while on one of her deliveries and they married on October 30, 1948. She later married Clinton Connolly Sr. in March 1987. For over 40 years she was a school bus contractor and driver for Kent County Public Schools and also served as the 1st. President of the Kent County Bus Association. "Mrs. Voshell", enjoyed meeting the children and grandchildren of her earlier school bus riders, driving many of them to school on her bus as she did their parents. She was a lifelong member and Past President of the Frank M. Jarman American Legion Auxiliary and an active member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward in July 1978; her sister, Ann Jacquette in October 2010; and her brother, Bill Schauber in June 2013. Mrs. Connolly is survived by her husband, John Clinton Connolly Sr.; her sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Glenn and Kathryn Gannon; her aunt, Marie Schauber Connolly; her children, John Voshell and his wife Ashlei, their children, Jasyn and Holli, their grandchildren, Portia, Regyn and Astryd; Ruthie Voshell-Russ and her husband Don, their son Nathan; Robert Voshell and his children Matthew and Amanda; and Thomas Voshell and his wife Diane. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wed., June 19, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown, Maryland where the Rosary will be offered at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Thurs., June 20, 2013 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 508 High Street, Chestertown, Maryland. Family and friends may pay their respects one hour prior to Mass at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow the mass in the Chesterfield Cemetery, Liberty Street, Centreville, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations offered in Eleanor's memory to The Kent County Chapter of The American Cancer Society, Kent County Chapter, 92 Read's Way, Suite 205, New Castle DE. 19720 or Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 508 High Street, Chestertown, Maryland 21620.
