GALENA - Eleanor Marie Caldwell died on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Compass Reginal Hospice Center in Centreville, Md. Mrs. Caldwell was born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late George and Elsie Davis Leager. Due to the death of her mother at an early age, Mrs. Caldwell was raised by her paternal Aunt and Uncle Emma and Louis Vane and lived all her life in Kent & Queen Anne's Counties. She was a graduate of Church Hill High School. Mrs. Caldwell was a long time member of the Eastern Shore Bible Baptist Church in Galena, Md. She and her husband enjoyed Eleanor and Eddies car show ministry attending and spreading Gods word in there antique truck. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting and was recently made a member of the Kenton Ruritan Club. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Caldwell is predeceased by three brothers, three sisters, and two grandchildren, Jeff Bennett and Tina Svites. She is survived by her husband, Edward Caldwell Jr. of Galena, Md., a son, Allen Bennett and his wife Peggy of Millington, Md., a daughter, Marlyn Bennett Svites and her husband Joe of Hellerstown, Pa., a sister, Patricia Benefield of Va., four grandchildren Joseph Svites, III and Susan, David Bennett and Annmarie, Lisa Svites Sheldon and Joel and Edward Svites, and four great grandchildren, Bret, Madison, Sara, and Elizabeth. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 24th, 2016 at 12 noon at the Eastern Shore Bible Baptist Church in Galena, Md., where friends and family may call after 11a.m. Interment will follow services in Sudlersville Cemetery.
