TOWNSEND - Egon E. Larsen, formerly of New York City, passed away Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008. He was born in Hjorring, Denmark. After retiring from one of the finest bakery shops as pastry chef for 35 years, he and his wife moved here in 1986 to be near their daughter. He won many awards for his pastry. He loved to bake, loved being outdoors and loved to make things out of wood, and he and his wife delivered Meals-on-Wheels for 15 years. It was a labor of love to help those in need. He also belonged to the AARP for many years. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Frances; and his dear daughter, Gudrun (Goody) Zedney. He was a loving husband and father. A viewing will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008 at the Holy Cross Church, 631 S. State St., Dover, followed by mass. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium Inc., 29 S. Main St., Smyrna.
