GEORGETOWN - Edward Sterling Adkins, of Georgetown, passed away on Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at the Renaissance Nursing Home, Millsboro. He was 64. Mr. Adkins was born the son of the late Edward S. and Alice E. (Cordrey) Adkins. He moved from Easton, Md., to the Seaford area when he was a child. He was a self employed entrepreneur and had served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Mr. Adkins was a member of the ALS Association. He enjoyed playing golf, was an avid sports fan but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by both parents. He is survived by his wife, Lindsey (Tice) Adkins of Georgetown; five children, Alicia Logan and her husband Greg of Lancaster, Pa., Graham Reese and his wife Holly of Milton, Edward S. Adkins III and his wife Heidi of Reno, Nev., Shane Mellin of Seaford, and Zachary Mellin, also of Seaford; five grandchildren, Andrew Logan, Matthew Logan, Paige Adkins, Brenna Reese, and Ryann Logan. A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the Christ Evangelistic Church, Laurel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia, 321 Norristown Road, Ambler, PA 19002. Arrangements by Short Funeral Services, 609 East Market St., Georgetown.
