Edward Peter Nichols, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Tidal Health at Nanticoke Hospital in Seaford, Delaware.
He was born on October 20, 1971 in Dover, Delaware the son of the late Edward Peter Nichols, Sr., and Janet Molesi Nichols of Greenwood.
After his education, he followed in his father's footsteps and worked as a truck driver in the family business, E&J Trucking his entire life.
He was married on November 14, 1998 to Jamie Hastings Nichols and they made their home with their two children in Greenwood.
An avid Eagles fan, "JR" also enjoyed working in his yard, taking care of the house and his family, tinkering in the garage and loved his dogs Puka, Ninja, Ralph, Willow and Snoop. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Jamie Hastings Nichols; two children, Jacqueline Grace Nichols and Edward Peter Nichols, III; and three brothers, E.J. Nichols and his wife Melinda, and Pete Nichols Sr. and his wife Alecia, George Nichols and his wife Jessica, all of Greenwood; his nieces and nephews, Joslin, E.J., Andrew, Peter, Abby, Dessaray, Will, Ava, Veralyn, Georgie, Aliley, Elizabeth and her husband Joe, and Allie; and his bonus brother, Tyrone Batson of Federalsburg, Md.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home - Fleischauer Chapel in Greenwood with Pastor Tim Banks officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
