Edward Mears, 87
ELLENDALE - Edward Mears passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at home. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., the son of the late Willard and Mae E. (Myers) Mears.
Edward was a plumber and owned Ed Mears Plumbing and Heating. He was also a constable in Pennsylvania for 18 years.
He served in the Naval Reserve.
He was a member of the Prigrim's Chapel. He enjoyed fishing and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Bernis Mears; children, Melissa Brown (Andy) of Milford and Jennifer Ariago (Mark) of Florida; two step-children, Susan Rios (Frankie) and Rhonda Kenlon (Bill) all of Pocomoke, Md.; eight grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Rags.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 14, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Interment will be held at Downing Cemetery, in Oak Hall, Va.
