DOVER - Edward A. Coward, Jr. passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022.
He was born October 21, 1952, in Bridgeton, New Jersey to the late Edward A. Coward, Sr. and Louise Coombs.
Mr. Coward was born and raised in New Jersey. July 1971, he moved down to get married to Pat. He worked for C.F. Schwartz for a few years before he went to work for the city of Dover as an Equipment Operator. In 1988, he was injured on the job. Afterwards he started truck driving for Rukoski's Potato Farm. Mr. Coward was an active member of Immanuel Union United Methodist Church, and remained a member of his hometown Church, in Bridgeton, NJ. He played baseball, pitching for the City of Dover, avid motorcyclist, and fan of watching his favorite teams, Steelers Football and Yankees Baseball. He loved spending time with his grandkids, and his dog, Snickers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Alyssa Jones.
Mr. Coward is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia Coward of Dover; daughters, Sue Fisher and husband, Carlos, of Camden, Brenda Sparacio and husband, Eddie of Harrington, Amanda Guajardo and husband, Jason of Dover, and Rhonda Hall and husband, Matt of Millington, MD; brother, Wayne Coward of Bridgeton, NJ, and Donald Coombs of Elmer, NJ; grandchildren, Todd Jones, Ashley Jones, Jalin Fisher-Jones, Giovanni Sparacio, Luciano Sparacio, Brooke Walls, Rachael Hall, Logan Hall, Matt Hall, II, Cora Guajardo, and Destiny Hettinger; great-grandchildren, Dillan Dean, Gabbi Jones, Brooklynn Lackey, Kyleigh Lackey, Blake Lackey, and Bella Hall.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, DE. Friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will be held at Immanuel Union United Methodist Church.
