GEORGETOWN - Edna T. Esham passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at home, surrounded by loved ones. Mrs. Esham was born in Berlin, Maryland, daughter of the late J. Marvin Tull, Sr. and Edna Trader Tull.
Mr. & Mrs. Esham worked together for many years at Esham Funeral Home and Harvey's Mens Store in Georgetown. She had been active in: Georgetown Chapter #9 Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a past Worthy Matron; a past Guardian with Job's Daughters; Georgetown New Century Club; and Ex POWs. For many years, Mrs. Esham was an active member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Georgetown until health issues made it difficult for her to attend.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded by her husband of 59 years, William J. Esham, Jr.; and her siblings, John M. Tull, Jr., Miriam Shores and Elsie Pennewell.
Mrs. Esham is survived by her children, William J. Esham, III and wife Aleta of Millsboro, Barbara Hedges and husband, Ken of Seaford; adopted son, Harry Fletcher, Jr. and wife Michele of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Jennifer Grassett of Felton, Logan Mason and husband Andrew of Millsboro, Lieutenant Joshua Hedges and wife Heather of MacIntosh, New Mexico and Marcus Hedges of Seaford; eight great-grandchildren, Connor, Nickolas, Taylor, Joey, Clay, Christian, Solomon and Moses.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, Del. on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 2 p.m. A time of visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, Georgetown, Del. All in attendance must wear a mask and adhere to social distancing and gathering protocols.
The family would like to express their great appreciation to Linda, Lydia and Nancy for their wonderful care through this journey. Special thanks to the staff of Delaware Hospice Center for guiding the family through this difficult time.
