Edna R. Mann, 88

DOVER - Edna R. Mann, of Dover, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at the age of 88. Edna was born and raised in Hadden Heights, N.J., the daughter of the late Rhinehart and Cordelia Woemer and has made Dover her home since 1966. Edna was a longtime and faithful member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Dover, where she volunteered in many capacities until her early 80's. She was a Medical Assistant for Dr. Carl Wrightman for many years. Edna was a dedicated volunteer and she was very active in her children's activities. She volunteered at Luther Towers, was a Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, a member of the National Sate and County divisions of the Association for Family and continuing Education and a huge band booster at Dover High School. She was an avid reader, artist, expert seamstress; but most of all her heart belonged to her family. During World War II Edna supported the War effort by working at The New York Ship Yard at Camden, N.J. Edna's beloved husband of 62 years Henry C. Mann passed away in 2006. She will be dearly missed by her family; son C. Fredric Mann and his wife Patricia of Newark; daughter Loraine E. Woods of Dover, and her husband Dean Woods of Federalsburg, Md.; grandchildren, Megan Woods, Heather Woods, Jennifer Mann and Brendan Mann; and all the people she has met and touched throughout her Life. Family and friends are invited to Edna's funeral service at noon, Monday, Oct. 5, at Beeson Funeral Home of Newark, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark. Interment will immediately follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In memory of Edna a memorial donation may be made to Alzheimer's Association Delaware Chapter, 240 N.
