Edna Margaret Adams

Edna Margaret Adams, 87 LAUREL - Edna Margaret Adams, age 87, of Laurel, passed away on Aug. 4, 2009, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. She was born in Georgetown, a daughter of the late Ira Lee Adams and Carrie Wilson Adams. She was a sales clerk and worked in accounting for the former Variety Store in Laurel and was a seamstress in the Laurel Shirt factory for 28 years. She was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Laurel. Mrs. Adams is survived by her brothers, James Wilbert Adams, William Thomas Adams, Nelson Adams and Alton Noah Adams; her sisters, Mary Elizabeth Parker, Gertrude Lee Shockley, Eva Mae Rimel, Lois Ann Truitt and Salle Leora Wharton; and numerous nieces and nephews. A sister, Madelyn Etha Mitchell, preceded her in death. A Funeral Service was held Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West Street, Laurel. The Rev. Julie Lewis officiated. Interment followed in Trinity Church Cemetery in Laurel. Memorial contributions can be made in her honor to: Trinity United Methodist Church, c/o Blanche Elliott, 17249 Phillips Hill Rd., Laurel, DE 19956.
