MILFORD - Edna J. Thompson, 100, of Milford, formerly of Crestwood Village of Whiting Twp, N.J., died Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at home. Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of the late Maurice and Sarah (Gnecco) Scocco. For a majority of her life, Edna was a "stay at home mom." She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Whiting, N.J., was a member of Catholic Daughters of America, where she had served as the Grand Regent. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo J. Thompson in 1984; and a brother, Frederick Scocco. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Protin and her husband Edward of Milford; one son, Richard Thompson and his wife Lillian of Stockholm, N.J.; four grandchildren, Karin Follmeyer, Nancy Protin Moore, Richard Thompson II, and Scott Thompson; and a nephew, Fred Scocco Jr. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 506 Seabury Avenue, Milford, where friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Committal services will be noon on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at the Chapel of Whiting Memorial Park, Whiting, N.J. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Popcorn Park Zoo, P.O. Box 43, Forked River, NJ 08731-0043. Arr. by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford.
