Edna Hines, 53

Edna Hines of Pocomoke City departed this life Tuesday, Jan 30, 2007, in Johns Hopkins Hospital in a peaceful rest. She was 53.

She was born Sept. 12, 1953, daughter of George Baines of Selbyville, Del. and the late Annie Lee Land. She was raised by Eva Deshields.

She was educated in Worcester County public schools where she graduated from Snow Hill High School.

She worked for Saul Manufacturing, Wilmington, for 15 years. She was currently working for the town of Ocean City where she had been employed for 12 years and six months.

She had an undeniable love for motorcycles and devoted much of her weekends to riding her own motorcycle. She had an overwhelming passion for shopping.

She is survived by her devoted friend, Garrison Wise of Berlin, Eva Deshields of Newark; her father, George Baines of Selbyville; a daughter, Reshal Hines of Pocomoke; a granddaughter, Tyneish Gustus of Pocomoke; a godson and his wife, Terrence and Yvette Snowden of Pocomoke; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Onedia and Leon Purnell of Seaford, Del., Barbara Shockley of Millsboro, Del., Shawn Hines of Selbyville and Fredia and Jo Scott of Wilmington, Del.; two brothers and a sister-in-law; Leon Deshields of Wilmington and Lafayette and Jamella Deshields of Pocomoke; a "son," Terrell Bonner; four nieces; two nephews; 11 great-nieces; six great-nephews; a host of cousins and friends; and her extended family, the "Black Knights."

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Pocomoke.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Calvary Pentecostal Church, Bishopville, where friends may call two hours earlier.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.
